SCHOOL GOVERNANCE

Our school governance structure draws upon the collective experience of our Parish Pastor, Principal, and School Board in accordance with the Archdiocese of Boston’s 2010 Initiative – a plan to make the Catholic schools in our archdiocese the best in the nation by 2010.

As a Parish school, the Pastor is ultimately responsible as our canonical administrator. The Principal and Assistant Principal oversee the daily operation of our school, its staff, and its academic offering. The School Board is one of limited jurisdiction, serving in an advisory capacity to ensure the viability and success of our program.

The Pastor, Principal, and School Board work together to guide the school’s academic, strategic, and institutional advancement in accordance with the vision and mission of the Parish and the Archdiocese of Boston.

The School Board is comprised of local practitioners from the professional, civic, and business community. Our 2009-2010 Board includes:

  • Fr. Peter Gori, O.S.A. – Pastor, St. Augustine Parish
  • Mrs. Ann Kendall – Principal, St. Augustine School
  • Mrs. Paula O’Dea – Assistant Principal, St. Augustine School
  • Mrs. Eugenie Moffitt – School Board Chair, responsible for functional oversight of the Board and its sub-committees, as well as the Strategic Planning & Policy Committee
  • Dr. Maria Sannella – Vice Chair and Marketing & Development Committee lead, responsible for marketing planning to enable the long-term advancement of the school
  • Dr. Debra Falvey – Board Secretary, responsible for meeting agendas and minutes, as well as general Board communication
  • Mr. Kevin Driscoll – School Board member and institutional advancement specialist
  • Mr. Ken LaRose – Building & Grounds Committee, includes oversight of the physical facility and partnership with Finance to ensure appropriate facility funding
  • Dr. Janine LeBlanc-Straceski – Curriculum Development, responsible for the assessment and advancement of academic and extra-curricular programs
  • Mr. Benoit Thibault – Finance Committee, responsible for budgeting and financial management policies in accordance with Parish guidelines
  • Sr. Mary Lou Graziano – Member of the order of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, providing expertise in elementary school administration and development
  • Fr. Fritz Cerullo, O.S.A. – In attendance for the 2009-2010 school year

The Board encourages parent volunteers who wish to contribute their creative thinking and positive energy to participate throughout the school. If you are interested in contributing to any aspect of the school, please contact Principal Ann Kendall.
