Our school governance structure draws upon the collective experience of our Parish Pastor, Principal, and School Board in accordance with guidelines from the Archdiocese of Boston.
As a Parish school, the Pastor is ultimately responsible as our canonical administrator. The Principal and Assistant Principal oversee the daily operation of our school, its staff, and its academic offering. The School Board is one of limited jurisdiction, serving in an advisory capacity to ensure the viability and success of our program.
The Pastor, Principal, and School Board work together to guide the school’s academic, strategic, and institutional advancement in accordance with the vision and mission of the Parish and the Archdiocese of Boston

Fr. Peter G. Gori, O.S.A – Pastor, St. Augustine Parish
Fr. Peter G. Gori, O.S.A. - An Augustinian Friar since 1973, ordained 1979, pastor of St. Augustine Parish since 2009. Fr. Peter also serves on the Boards of Holy Family Hospital in Methuen and Lazarus House Ministries in Lawrence and Villanova University in Pennsylvania. He holds a doctorate in Church Law and serves on the Metropolitan Tribunal and the Presbyteral Council of the Archdiocese of Boston. He is a graduate of Austin Prep, Villanova University (B.S.), The Washington Theological Union (M.A.), Pontifical University of St. Thomas, (J.C.D.) Including elementary school, that's about 25 years of Catholic education!
Mrs. Paula O’Dea – Principal, St. Augustine School
Paula O’Dea is the principal at St. Augustine School and is a product of Catholic education herself. She attended Our Lady of Mount Carmel elementary School, St. Mary’s High School, and later Merrimack College for her graduate degree. She began her teaching career in 1978 right here at St. Augustine School after graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and Sociology from UMass Lowell. She taught 5th and 6th grade before moving into administration in 2006. She holds a Masters Degree in Elementary Education and a Massachusetts License in Administration. Paula and her husband of 30 years, Michael have been members of St. Augustine Parish for 25 years . She is the mother of three daughters who are St. Augustine School Alums.
Miss Meghan Lovett--Assistant Principal, St. Augustine School
Meghan Lovett is the assistant principal of St. Augustine School. Her introduction to Augustinian education began at Assumption College where she graduated with a bachelors degree in Mathematics, Elementary Education, and theology. She then completed the Providence Alliance for Catholic Teachers program of Providence College, earning her Masters of Education Administration in 2010 as well as her Massachusetts License in Administration. During this time she taught math and science to grades six through eight as well as worked as a school administrator. Most recently she has graduated from Boston College in 2014 with a Masters in Divinity.
Mr. James Fennessy, Board Chair
Jamie and his wife Liz are St. Augustine parishioners as well as parents to two alumns and a 5th grader at St. Augustine School. Jamie was the Chairperson of the St. Augustine School Golf Tournament from 2010-2012 and he currently coaches the girls' basketball team.
Jamie attended Boston College High School in Dorchester and received his MBA from Boston College. He and his family live in North Andover.
Dr. Debra Filocoma Falvey
Debra (Filocoma) Falvey, the current Board Chairperson and native of Brooklyn, N.Y., is a pediatric dentist with a practice in Portsmouth, N.H. Debbie attended Catholic elementary school, high school and college. She graduated summa cum laude from Fordham University in 1984, and earned her dental degree from SUNY Stony Brook in 1988. After completing her post-doctoral training in pediatric dentistry at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and Children's Hospital in Boston, Deb and her husband, Chris, moved to Andover in 1995 and became active members of St. Augustine Parish. Deb and Chris have two children who presently attend St. Augustine School. Deb is also a member of the St. Augustine Parish Pastoral Council, and is co-chair (along with Chris) of the Centennial Gymnasium Fundraising Committee. She is strongly committed to advocating for Catholic education.
Dr. Ken DeBenedictis
Kenneth L. DeBenedictis is a retired Superintendent of Schools of the Hollis-Brookline, NH Schools where he served in that position for ten years. Prior to that, he was the Assistant Superintendent of Schools in Westford, Mass for five years following positions as Director of Curriculum and Instruction and School Principal in that community. His professional career began as an elementary teacher in Reading, Mass. He was named New Hampshire Superintendent of the Year in 2004 and Massachusetts School Principal of the Year in 1989.
He received his undergraduate degree from Northeastern University and his Master of Education and Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study Degree from Boston University. His Doctorate in Education was received from Boston College in 1986.
He and his wife Susan have lived in Andover for 37 years. Their three adult children are all graduates of the Andover Schools. Both of them are active in St. Augustine’s Parish. Susan has been involved with Bible study work for the past several years and volunteers for a number of parish activities. He is involved as a Lector and a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
Since retirement, Ken has worked on a part time basis as Senior Consultant for the New England School Development Council where he coordinates school district searches in the New England states for Superintendent of School positions and assists school districts with strategic planning.
Mrs. Cheryl Jamitkowski
Cheryl and her husband, Jamie, are the proud parents of a 2017 alumna of St. Augustine’s who had been at the school since pre-K. Cheryl previously worked for the Staples Corporation as a Retail Project Manager and Stride Rite as a Retail Business Analyst. Cheryl is also a former President of the St. Augustine School Guild and keeps an active role in school events and fundraising.
Dr. Andrea Biondo Enman
Andrea is a dentist and has her practice in Wilmington, MA. She is a native of Andover, who graduated from Lawrence Academy in Groton. She later graduated Cum Laude from Saint Anselm College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. She also earned her dental doctorate degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where she graduated with honors. After a few years of being an associate in private practices, she designed and built her own family and cosmetic dental practice in 2004 with her partner, called the Biondo & Foley Dental Group.
Andrea met her husband, Charles Enman, while at Lawrence Academy and they got married after they both finished graduate school in 2000. They reside in Andover and are the proud parents of three boys that each currently attend St. Augustine School. The boys are in 2nd, 4th, and 6th grades and they each have been students at the school since they entered the nursery school program at 3 years old.
Both Andrea and Chuck are active volunteers at the school and are active members of St. Augustine Parish. Andrea has been a St. Augustine parishioner since 1974.
Mr. David DeFilippo
Dave DeFilippo is currently the Director of Communications at Central Catholic High School. Previously, he worked as the principal of Central Catholic for eleven years after workings as the director of guidance for seventeen years. He earned his BA in Economics from Merrimack College and his MA in Economics from Northeastern University. Two of his granddaughters attend St. Augustine School.
Dr. Anthony Straceski
Anthony Straceski, a parent of 2 former St. Augustine students, is a new member of the School Board. Dr. Straceski is a cardiologist with New England Cardiology, with an office in Lawrence, MA. He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College in 1981 with a B.A. in biochemical sciences, and received his M.D. in 1985 from Columbia University. In the past few years Tony has competed in triathlon, running, and other multisport events. He has been a library trustee of MHL in Andover since 2011. Tony and his wife Janine have been communicants at St. Augustine Church since 1993. They have 3 sons and reside in Andover.
Sr. Mary Elizabeth Whalen, S.N.D.
A native of Somerville, MA, Sister Mary Elizabeth Whalen has been a Sister of Notre Dame de Namur for 56 years. She received a B.A. in English/Education from Emmanuel College, an M.A. in Counseling from Boston College, and also completed Clinical Pastoral Education Training at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen. Sr. Mary Elizabeth served the Archdiocese of Boston as a teacher in grades 6 – 12 in several Catholic schools, and also served as the Principal of a K-8 school. She served as a Pastoral Associate in two parishes in the Diocese of Manchester for over 15 years, and served on the Diocesan staff in Manchester as Cabinet Secretary for Evangelization and Education from 2000 – 2012. Sr. Mary Elizabeth also has served as Personnel Director for the Boston Province of the Sisters of Notre Dame, and is currently the citizenship teacher and coordinator of volunteers at Notre Dame Education Center in Lawrence, MA. She is also currently an Instructor in the Diaconate Formation Program for the Diocese of Manchester, NH.
