Meet our School Advisory Board!
The St. Augustine School Advisory Board provides recommendations to the Pastor and administration to support the overall mission of our school. The Board has consultative responsibilities in the following areas: mission and faith, academics and instruction, advancement, enrollment, finance, buildings and grounds, and planning and policy. The Board meets with the Pastor and administration on a monthly schedule, and Board members participate in other standing and ad hoc committees within the school.
Fr. Peter G. Gori, O.S.A. - An Augustinian Friar since 1973, ordained 1979, pastor of St. Augustine Parish since 2009. Fr. Peter also serves on the Boards of Holy Family Hospital in Methuen and Lazarus House Ministries in Lawrence and Villanova University in Pennsylvania. He holds a doctorate in Church Law and serves on the Metropolitan Tribunal and the Presbyteral Council of the Archdiocese of Boston.
He is a graduate of Austin Prep, Villanova University (B.S.), The Washington Theological Union (M.A.), Pontifical University of St. Thomas, (J.C.D.) Including elementary school, that's about 25 years of Catholic education!
Joe Bianco is the current principal of St. Augustine School. This is his first year in this role after over a decade of teaching at North Andover Middle School and serving as the Coordinator of the Social Studies Department.
Mrs. Doherty is the current assistant principal of St. Augustine School. She moved into this role after five years teaching middle school Language Arts at St. Augustine School.
Anthony Straceski, a parent of 2 former St. Augustine's students, is a long time member of the School Board. Dr. Straceski is a cardiologist with New England Cardiology, with an office in Lawrence, MA. He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College in 1981 with a B.A. in biochemical sciences, and received his M.D. in 1985 from Columbia University. In the past few years Tony has competed in triathlon, running, and other multi sport events.
He has been a library trustee of MHL in Andover since 2011. Tony and his wife Janine have been communicants at St. Augustine Church since 1993. They have 3 sons and reside in Andover.
Dr. Debra Falvey grew up in Brooklyn, NY. She moved to the Boston area after dental school to
pursue specialty training in pediatric dentistry at Children’s Hospital and the Harvard School of
Dental Medicine. She has been in private practice since 1990 and became a partner at
Portsmouth Pediatric Dentistry in Portsmouth, NH, in 1996.
Deb and her husband, Chris, have a daughter and a son who attended St. Augustine School
from grades K through 8, and continued with their Catholic secondary education at Portsmouth
Abbey School in Rhode Island.
Both Deb and Chris are committed to supporting and advancing Catholic education. Deb has
been on the St. Augustine Advisory Board since 2008, where she served as chair for four years,
and is presently an emeritus member. She also sits on the St. Augustine School Finance
Committee, and has been a member of the St. Augustine Parish Council. Deb and Chris chaired
the fundraising committee for the parish school gymnasium and have been the parish Catholic
Appeal coordinators at St. Augustine Parish for the Archdiocese of Boston.
Deb and Chris moved from Andover, and currently live in Plaistow NH, but remain active
members of St. Augustine Parish.
Christine Routhier Burke is a Certified Financial Planner™ & Certified Family Business Specialist. A Senior Partner with Commonwealth Financial Group since 1992 her practice is in Dundee Park. She has been in the investment/insurance industry for over 43 years and works primarily with business owners and professionals, helping them develop and implement wealth and risk management strategies to achieve their financial goals.
Christine is a native of Lawrence, MA and has lived with her husband Tom in Andover and attended St Augustine Parish for the past 35 years. (Tom is an alum as well as his 6 siblings of SAS who also had Sr Kathleen as a teacher!) They have 2 nephews and a niece who are recent grads of SAS. In addition they are Auntie Chris and Uncle Tommy to an additional 30 nieces and nephews. In addition to being on the SAS Advisory Board, Christine is on the St Augustine Pastoral Council, a Certified Spiritual Companion, a member of the Friends of Northern Essex Community College and an Alumna of Up With People.
David Giangrande is a North Reading native who has lived with his wife, Karen, in Andover and attended St. Augustine Parish for 36 years. Their four grown children, Kristina, Liza, Peter and Jason, all attended St. Augustine’s school.
David is a registered professional Engineer and holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil engineering and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering with a transportation focus, both from Northeastern University. For the last 25 years David has been President and CEO of Design Consultants Inc,. a multi-disciplined engineering firm.
As a professional, David has supported both the parish and the school on both building committees. David is currently serving the Andover community by sitting on the Andover Town Building Committee. David serves on numerous Greater Merrimack Valley Advisory Boards, including The Lazarus House and the Lawrence Boys and Girls Club as well as holding leadership roles in many New England based Professional Engineering Organizations.
David DeFillippo is currently the Director of Foundation Giving at Central Catholic High School. Previously, he served as the Principal of Central Catholic for eleven years after working as the Director of College Guidance for nineteen years. Previous to his role in college guidance, he taught Mathematics, English and AP US History at Central Catholic. He earned a BA in Economics from Merrimack College and an MA in Economics from Northeastern University. He has two granddaughters, one is a graduate of St. Augustine School and one is a current middle school student at St. Augustine School. David and his wife, Kathleen, live in Lawrence. Their three children and four grandchildren benefit from the gifts of a Catholic school education.
Kristen DiGiovanni, Ed.D. resides in Wilmington with her husband and two daughters, Isabella (12) and Ava (9). She is a product of Catholic education spanning preK-12. Kristen currently serves as the Associate Dean of the School of Education at Endicott College, Beverly Ma. She has been a practitioner in education for over 20 years, serving as an elementary teacher, administrator and special education teacher. Kristen earned her doctorate in curriculum, teaching, leading and learning from Northeastern University. She focuses her research on social emotional learning specifically building self-efficacy and long term resilience. Kristen loves summer reading, travel and working with children, teachers and administrators to make schools the best they can be! Kristen and her family are proud to be part of St. Augustine’s community. She looks forward to serving the school community.
Mark and his wife Anne Marie are St. Augustine’s parishioners, were married at St Augustine's church, and currently send their 4 children to St. Augustine School.
Mark is a Managing Director and Chief Information Security Officer at Bain Capital, a private investment management firm. He has a BsC Honors degree from the University of Gloucestershire in England, an MBA from Babson College and an Executive Masters in Cyber Security from Brown University.
Mark is an active volunteer, coach and previous Board member of Andover Soccer Association. Mark, Anne Marie and their 4 children currently reside in Andover.
Brad and his wife Kristen are St. Augustine’s parishioners as well as the parents of two students at St. Augustine School. Brad currently works as the Director of Consulting Services for CGI, a global management and IT services company.
Brad also serves on the Board of Incompass Human Services in Chelmsford, focused on enhancing the lives of persons with a developmental disability. Brad attended Central Catholic High School in Lawrence, received his BA from Assumption College, and obtained his MBA from Suffolk University. He and his family live in Andover.
